St. Charles Dart League

YOUTH DIVISION

The St. Charles Youth Dart League starts the 2010 session on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00AM at the South 94 Bistro!!! We are going with a two-tiered program this session. Tier One is for the older and/or more experienced kids who want to participate in an adult-style league. Each week, youths who have signed up for Tier One will play against other youths in the group for 5 points (501, Cricket and Chicago for 1 point each 2 out of 3 game winner and 2 points for the winner of a game of Slop Minnesota in a singles format). At the end of the 8-10 week session, we will have a play-off of the top 4 individuals, with the winner earning the title of 2010 SCDL Youth Champion and an invitation to the 2010 Youth Nationals in Stamford, Connecticut in August. Regular attendance is critical in the Tier One division, however, we are building in a couple of open weekends when make-up matches can be taken care of.

The Tier Two division will be comprised of youths who were unable to participate in Tier One and younger, less experienced youths who just want to come out and develop their skills against other youths of similar age and/or experience. ANYONE CAN PARTICIPATE ON ANY GIVEN WEEK. For Tier Two, the first hour 10:00AM - 11:00AM will be devoted to warming up and doing practice drills aimed at improving accuracy and learning strategy. We continue to have, as our guest, an experienced adult dart player on hand to give pointers and advice ... for FREE! ... each week. This is a great opportunity to pick the brain of some of our more experienced dart players from the league. They are present as a volunteer and they WANT to help you become a better dart player so you can get more enjoyment out of the game. Then, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, we will engage in a round robin dart tournament or we will play dart games designed to improve accuracy and skills.

January 23 and 30
February 6, 13, 20 and 27
March 13 and 20
April 3, 10 (make-up day), and 24
May 1 (Playoffs!)
