Membership Votes To Join ADO
January 8, 2000
In a lopsided vote, league members at the Winter Banquet decided that the St. Charles Dart League should join the American Darts Organization (ADO).
Though ADO membership was opposed by league President Scott Martin and most of the Board of Directors, the vote was overwhelmingly in favor. A speech in favor of ADO membership by George Arnold appeared to carry the day and settled the question for many members.
"The members of this league usually get what they want one way or another," said Scott, "and they have made it pretty clear that this is important to them. I'll just have to find a way to work out my differences with the ADO Board."
The Board of Directors will now have to get to work and determine how the ADO membership fee will be raised. The fee averages out to approximately one dollar per member per year. The league By-Laws will also need to be modified to include a designated ADO representative on the Board.
