SCDL Takes Two FallStars Trophies, Ties For Third

October 21, 2001

St. Charles Dart League all-star teams won two of the three traveling trophies from the Southern Illinois Darting Association (SIDA) in the 2001 October FallStars Challenge tournament on October 20. The tournament was held at Scrooges Pub.

The SCDL won the Gold Division trophy by a score of 25 points to 19 points for the SIDA teams and the Silver Division was won by a score of 29 to 15. The Bronze Division match ended in a 22 to 22 tie.

The annual challenge tournament consists of six all-star teams from each league, two "Gold" teams, two "Silver" teams and two "Bronze" teams, with six players per team. The "Gold" bracket inludes our A1 and A2 divisions, "Silver" includes our B1 and B2 and "Bronze" includes our B3 and C. Participation is by Presidential Invitation.

The tournament alternates between St. Charles and Southern Illinois each year. Traditionally, the visiting league is responsible for ordering the t-shirts for all of the participants. This year, the SIDA made good on a joke "threat" that has been running for several years and brought pink shirts for the St. Charles players to wear. Laughing it off, the SCDL players proudly wore their pink shirts while virtually sweeping the tournament, vowing to take "t-shirt revenge" on the SIDA next year when it will be our turn to order the shirts.

Congratulations to all the participants and a big thank you to Scrooge's Pub for a wonderful event!
