Jeff Austin Dies

eff Austin, a team mate of mine and a long time dart thrower out of Good Tymes Pub died of a heart attack on Sunday afternoon (July 7) at DePaul Hospital. He was 35.

Jeff worked for the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department. He was from New Jersey and had no family in the area. His body will be flown home to his family.

The Sheriff's Department said they would hold a "life service" at the St. Charles Moose Lodge on Wednesday, July 10, at 6:00pm. Everyone who knew Jeff is welcome and they ask that you bring a side dish or desert. I do not yet know the family's plans in New Jersey.

Many of the people on my Thursday night team have thrown with him for several sessions out of Good Tymes. In the Fall 2001 season, Jeff was awarded "Most Valuable Player" in the Thursday B3 division with an average of .750 and most recently in the Winter 2002 season his team, "Big Dogs", were the B3 Champions, winning the Traveling Trophy for that division.
