Two Board Members Swap Seats
July 27, 1999
As a result of some new demands on his time, H. "Cowboy" Dixon has been forced to resign from his position as Seargent-At-Arms of the SCDL. "I'd like to stay on the Board," Cowboy said, "but I just don't have time to do a good job as Seargent-At-Arms."
Among other duties, the Seargent-At-Arms issues dartboard sanctions. This uses up a lot of time on Saturdays and evenings.
Though several other candidates were invited to attend the Board meeting on July 26, none of them presented themselves there so Member-At-Large Patty Steinmeyer asked for the job.
"I have the time to do it," said Patty, "as well as the inclination. I ran for Seargent-At-Arms in the past. I didn't last time only because I didn't want to run against Cowboy. But I do want the job."
Patty's Member-At-Large position was then left vacant when the Board unanimously voted to appoint her Seargent-At-Arms - so the Board immediately appointed Cowboy to finish her term, completing an office swap.
"Their terms will both count as full terms," said League President Scott Martin, "because there is more than half of the time remaining, so each will count against their term limit."
